Workshops in schools

Replenish delivers a range of workshops and assemblies to support teachers to embed waste reduction into the curriculum.

Our workshops are COVID-19 secure and fully risk assessed. Will will adhere to Government guidance including hand washing and social distancing guidelines.

We are now taking bookings for the summer term 2021. Please note that due to COVID-19, during the summer term 2021 we are only offering the following sessions:

Growing plants and compost habitats (Years 2 and 3)

1.5hr workshop. Link to curriculum: living things and their habitats (science)

Overview and learning objectives:

Students will learn that animals living in the compost bin recycle the nutrients in plants in order to help new plants grow. They will name the different parts of plants and learn that plants need many things to grow, including water, light, nutrients and the right temperature. Students will plant a seed in a pot to take home with them.

Love food hate waste assembly (reception, KS1 and KS2)

In this interactive assembly, we will look at the journey food makes from farm to fork and all of the effort and resources that go into getting the food to us. We will then explore the importance of making the most of food and some ideas for saving our food from the bin. For KS2 pupils, we will discuss food waste recycling and explore the link between food waste and climate change.
